Rapper Flavor Flav was born William Drayton Jr. in grew up in Freeport, Long Island New York, and has a net worth of $9 million. Despite a troubled youth, young Drayton managed to master many instruments and develop his musical skills. Drayton met Carlton Ridenhour at university, and after a college radio show project, the two began rapping together under their now well-known stage names, Flavor Flav and Chuck D.
Public Enemy songs can also be heard on the soundtracks for the film He Got Game and the videogame San Andreas. In 2004, Flav appeared on the third season of VH1 reality show The Surreal Life where he began a relationship with actress Brigitte Neilsen and went on to star in their own spin-off show, Strange Love. When the relationship failed, Flav was given his own reality series Flavor of Love, which lasted three seasons with top ratings and spawned three direct spin-off shows.
