William Leonard Roberts II born January 28, 1976, better known by his stage name Rick Ross, is an American rapper. He derived his stage name from the drug trafficker "Freeway" Ricky Ross, to whom he has no connection (Ross even sued the rapper for $10 million for using his name; see Legal Issues. Ross founded the record label Maybach Music Group, on which he released his studio albums Deeper Than Rap and Teflon Don

Ross stated that he owns $45,000 worth of jewelry which would have to mean that all the Jewelry he wears in his videos and on TV is either fake or borrowed. His monthly mortgage payments total $9,700 and he claims every month he actually spends $7000 more than he earns.

In February 2009 rival rapper 50 Cent appeared on the Ed Lover morning show with a copy of Rick’s financial breakdown obtained during his child support case. These documents reveal Ross’ true financial status and it is far from the image he likes to portray. Ross claims to own three cars: A 2004 Maybach worth $55,000, a leased 2007 Cadillac Escalade worth $30,000 and a 2006 Infinity Q56 worth $30,000.
